How do I add new sensors?
Sensors can be easily added to Flexwhere via the Control Centre. There are two ways to do this: by uploading a list of sensors (Excel file) or by adding a single sensor manually.
Here's how it works:
Add multiple sensors (Excel upload)
Before you start: Make sure each workplace or meeting room on your floor plan has a Room/Desk ID filled in using the SVG Editor. These IDs are required for generating the Excel file.
- Sign in to the Control Centre.
- In the menu on the left, go to Devices → Sensors.
- Click on the “+ New sensor” (top right).
- Choose “Add sensor list”.
- Download to get the current Excel file with empty fields for Sensor ID.
- Share this file with your vendor or fill in the Sensor ID column yourself.
- Return to the same upload screen.
- Choose whether to Add (merge with current list) or Replace (delete and upload new list).
- Upload the completed file (SVG/PNG/JPEG - max 1MB).
- Confirm to update your sensor setup.
Add a single sensor manually
- Sign in to the Control Centre.
- In the menu on the left, go to Devices → Sensors.
- Click on the “+ New sensor” button in the top right corner.
- Now type the name of the sensor you want to add.
- Specify what the sensor's Time To Live (ttl) should be.
- Click Save.
Tip: The Time To Live (ttl) of a sensor determines how long a sensor stays on occupied after measuring activity.
